Remodeling our first house together has been quite an adventure! It's been keeping us busy for the last 2 months. The night we closed on the house, I went to 'Music Man' rehearsal, and Brett went over to the house and started tearing out the cabinets. That's how the next few weeks of our lives went. Now we are actually moved in and continue to work on making this house our home. Here is a glimpse of the progress so far!

Here are some MORE before and after pictures of our kitchen.

Brett did an excellent job cutting tile for the kitchen floor.
And I was an excellent tile-delivery girl.

The house came with this lovely, experienced carpet. Luckily, we discovered that underneath the carpet, the hardwood was in pretty good shape!

And as is the case when you purchase a house that is 100 years old, you find some surprises, like the the little furry friend I found in a vent.

The main floor bathroom was the second project we began to tackle. It is almost complete! We just need to put in the pedastal sink and paint!

The upstairs is going through the most change, with new walls, new bathroom, and new everything. Brett had a great time knocking down walls.

We turned this closet into a hallway...

Here are the beginnings of a new bathroom and the Master bedroom.

Brett's cousin Brandon and Shari stayed for a weekend, and helped take out some carpet to reveal our lovely stairs.
Brett's mom came out for a weekend, and we put her to work. She helped us fill the first of our big garbage dumpsters.

It is definitely an work in progess. We are learning so much! Check back for more pictures coming soon! Or even better come visit us and see the house in person!

Wow! You guys are working up a storm and I'm lovin' your transformations....keep up the terrific job!
I love the remodeling you are doing. The kitchen is gorgeous! It's so great that you can do all of the work yourselves. What great memories you are making.
A little side note :) We aren't doing all the work ourselves. We're doing some, but we have found some people who know more than we do, to do the most important things like electrical and plumbing!
It is amazing the amount of work you have done (or had done) in such a short period of time. I can't wait to see the finished product. Keep up the good work!
I am loving these before and after pictures! I want to see more!!!
Love the photos, thanks for sharing!
I love the description of the carpet as being "experienced." Looks great! Reminds me of watching "This Old House"
Great work you guys. I've learned alot about remodeling and it's very satisfying and exhausting.
It looks awesome. We've fixed up 2 houses together (not quite to that extent...) It really is fun to do and even better when it's done. I wish we could have a housewarming par-tay!
wow Cindy, you guys are really making that house look beautiful!
You two are doing a fabulous job! I am trying really hard not to be jealous.
